LAKEWOOD, CO- The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced their Division II Ping All-America Teams on Thursday, and after a tremendous junior season,
Xavier Bighaus was named Honorable Mention All-American.
Bighaus began the year as strong as you could ask for, winning the Writz at Mile High to begin the fall season. He continued with a third place finish at the Centennial Cup in October to close the fall season in Colorado well. In the spring, Xavier won again at the Southern Colorado Masters to close the regular season. A fifth place finish helped his team to their first ever RMAC championship, and a second place finish from the team at regionals sent them to the National Championships. Bighaus claimed 29th to lead his team into match play, where he turned in a victory and competed hard in match play as the Cougars went on to win the national title, the first ever at Colorado Christian.
Additionally,
Dylan Arthur was added to the All-Region team after the senior led his team to the national title with a 2-1 match play tally. The Texas native also claimed his first collegiate win at the perfect time, claiming the West/South Central regional title in outstanding fashion. A pair of top three finishes highlighted a stellar final campaign at CCU as he went out on the mountaintop of college golf with a national championship.
