COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- The indoor Track & Field season resumed on Saturday at the Colorado Running Company UCCS Invite. The team came back strong as they posted strong results to carry momentum into the next weekend of meets.
For the women,
Hannah Zugich began in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.27.
Madeline Schmeling followed in the 60m dash with a run of 8.50.
Shannon King posted a blazing fast time in the 800m, securing second place with a time of 2:15.48.
Kate Miller followed with a 2:21.51 while
Ava Maginity ran a 2:25.29. In the 400m,
Tara Smoker claimed 7th with a 1:00.91. Zugich finished with a time of 1:07.33 in the event. A large number of Cougars took part in the mile, and
Rachel Harpt,
Brooke Connolly,
Madison Burkholder,
Kara Krulick,
Sarah Hamlin and
Lorelei Daugherty all took part with Harpt leading the way with a 5:46.25. Smoker ran in the 200m, recording a time of 27.65.
Laken Meier competed in the long jump, posting a jump of 4.43m. In the triple jump,
Ashley Vil leaped to a mark of 11.04m.
Elana Sutton posted a distance of 9.95m in the shot put.
Caleb Hershey was stellar in the 5000m, taking second with a run of 15:31.82.
Jay Wood posted a 15:54.77 for sixth place. In the 60m hurdle,
Jacob Dymond ran a 9.20.
Tate Fletcher posted an 800m time of 2:02.09. In the 400m dash,
Jathan Rentfrow and
Jacob Marker posted times of 56.27 and 56.37 respectively.
Evan McClinton,
Mathew Olech,
Kale Edmonds,
Michael Mote,
Clayton Ackley and
Nico Ramirez all took part in the mile with McClinton leading the way with a 4:38.72.
Jonah Beard, Rentfrow and Dymond all ran in the 200m dash, and Beard paced his team with a 24.18.
Jeremy Miller ran well in the 3000m as he posted a time of 9:25.32.
The team will now prepare for a pair of events at the Mines Winter Invite and Colorado Invitational January 31- February 1.
