LAKEWOOD, CO- CCU resumed RMAC play in 2025 with a matchup against UCCS at home on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions jumped ahead early and never let the hosts claw their way too close in an 84-59 setback.
Bradley Land scored the first points of the game, but from there the visitors went on a 10-0 run. Midway through the half, UCCS held a 21-9 advantage.
Promise Idiaru made a layup and
Schafer Reichart converted consecutive layups, but a late surge from UCCS sent them ahead 45-24 at the half.
Land tried to bring his team back with an early layup, and
Jacob Everson converted a three-point play.
Nathaniel Law made a layup while Reichart drove for a layup to make the score 63-39 midway through the second half.
The hill was too great to climb as the Mountain Lions were able to pull away and keep their lead comfortable throughout the remainder of the game, claiming the 84-59 victory.
Law paced his team with 14 points followed by 12 from Land.
The Cougars will now travel to CSU Pueblo on January 9 for a 7:30 p.m. MST tipoff on Thursday evening.
