LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their selections for Track & Field First Team Academic All-Conference on Thursday, and
Matthew Storer and
Shannon King both earned the distinction for their work in the classroom and on the track.
Storer boasted a 3.71 Grade Point Average in Business during his undergraduate studies and currently holds a 4.0 as he works towards his MBA. Matt had another stellar season as he made the NCAA National Championships in the 5k during the indoor season and made his third straight appearance at Nationals in the 10k during the outdoor season. The honor marks the second straight season Storer has been named to the First Team for his academic and athletic prowess.
King was excellent as she closed her collegiate career with a 4.0 GPA in her undergrad majoring in Psychology and continued to excel with a 4.0 in her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. It was an incredibly memorable season for King as she ran a Personal Best and school record of 4:43.14 in the indoor mile at the NCAA National Championships to claim fourth in the nation and earn All-American honors. She closed her season as she ran in the 1500m at the outdoor National Championships to cap off a memorable career and leave a legacy of excellence and perseverance for all future runners at CCU.
