LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their preseason rankings and Preseason All-RMAC team on Tuesday, and after their best season in 12 years in 2024, the Cougars are at #3 in the preseason poll. Returning Second Team All-Conference honoree
Renee Phillips landed on the All-RMAC preseason list for her efforts last year.
Colorado Christian peaked at the right time last year, going on an unprecedented run to the RMAC Tournament finals for the first time in program history after defeating South Dakota Mines and Colorado Mesa to book a spot in the championship game. With their first NCAA Regional appearance since 2012 last fall, the Cougars will look to build upon that foundation of success and become a perennial contender in the RMAC and NCAA postseason. The #3 ranking is the highest under Head Coach
Bobby Blanken and is a testament to the respect that CCU volleyball has earned within the conference.
Phillips landed on the Preseason All-RMAC after an excellent junior campaign in 2024. The middle hitter from California tallied 280 kills, a .344 attack percentage, accounted for 352 kills and notched an impressive 83 blocks. Renee will play a huge part in the attack and defense on the team in her senior season as she looks to lead her team back to the NCAA postseason.
The Cougars begin their season at the Oredigger Volleyball Classic hosted by Colorado School of Mines on September 5 against Washburn University at 11 a.m. MST.
