CCU Picked Second in RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Three Cougars Land on All-RMAC Preseason List

LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released their preseason coaches's poll alongside their All-RMAC preseason list on Tuesday, and with a strong core of returning talent and some key additions, CCU has been picked to finish second in the conference with three All-RMAC preseason selections.

After a stellar season that saw the Cougars make their way to the NCAA Regional Tournament after a wonderful push at the RMAC Championships that saw them just barely finish second. With five returning players on the team this year and the addition of two new pieces, the Cougars aim to fight for the RMAC crown and a bid to Regionals and eventually the National Championships.

Raya Schulz garnered a spot on the preseason list after a strong junior year that saw the Arizona native take her first collegiate individual title in her home state and earn First Team All-Conference Honors for the second straight year. The senior will look to lead her team to the National Championships in her final year with the Cougars in 2025-26.

Makenna Brown was stellar in her junior season and earned a preseason All-RMAC nod for her efforts. Closing the year strong, Brown took medalist honors at the RMAC Championships with a fifth place finish and earned First Team All-Conference honors.

Kylee Hughes was a steady and consistent presence on her team in 2024-25, and she was named to the All-RMAC preseason list as a program-tying three Cougars joined three CSU Pueblo players on the list. Hughes received First Team All-Conference honors to close the year, and with herself and so much other returning talent, the Cougars have lofty goals of making a playoff push all the way to the final week of the season.

Colorado Christian is set to begin their season as they host the Swan Memorial September 8-9 at The Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield. Congratulations to Raya Schulz, Makenna Brown and Kylee Hughes on being named Preseason All-RMAC!
