SOUTH JORDAN, UT- The Cougars continued their season at the Westminster Wasatch Invitational in Utah September 21-22. After two rounds of play, CCU finished in a tie for 4th place out of the 11 teams competing at Glenmoor Golf Club.
ROUND ONE
Raya Schulz paced her team in the first round of play, shooting a 77.
Kendall Simms followed with a 78, while
Makenna Brown carded a 79.
Kylee Hughes finished with an 80, and
Anna Mettler shot an 83 to close the starting five out.
Bella Slattery shot an 84 as she competed as an individual at the tourney.
ROUND TWO
Schulz fired a 76 on the final day of play, finishing in 11th overall. Hughes led her team with a 75 as she tied for 19th place. Simms joined her teammate in a tie for 19th with a 77, and shot a 79 to finish 26th. Mettler closed with an 85 as she finished in 44th.
Slattery carded an 80 to close in 40th, while
Hannah Martin competed on day two as an individual and also shot an 80.
As a team, the Cougars fired a total of 621 (314, 307) as they finished tied with Fort Lewis for fourth place overall. The host Westminster took the tournament title with a total of 610 (309, 301).
The Cougars will now return to Colorado as they compete next at the West Regional Preview October 13-14 at Pueblo Country Club.
