LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their players of the week on Monday, and after a career weekend,
Pierce Bazil has been named Offensive Player of the Week.
Bazil was virtually unstoppable all weekend as the Cougars hosted Chadron State and South Dakota Mines. Taking on the Eagles on Thursday, Pierce had a career night, draining a program record tying 8 three-pointers on his way to a career high 36 points. With 3 steals, 3 rebounds and a pair of assists, Bazil shot 11-16 from the field for an eye popping shooting percentage of 69%.
Bazil did not slow down on Saturday against the Hardrockers, pouring in 32 points on 10-17 shooting and four more three-pointers. He chipped in 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal as he once again led his team to victory to move the Cougars up the RMAC standings.
On the week, Bazil dropped an incredible 68 points with 12 threes, connecting from the field at a 64% clip and from beyond the arc at 63%. The effort helped CCU move up to ninth in the RMAC standings, one game out of a conference tournament bid with six contests to go in the regular season.
