LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their players of the week on Tuesday, and after leading her team to a sweep of Chadron State over the weekend,
Leah Garcia has earned the honor for the first time this season.
Garcia had an excellent weekend at the plate, slashing for an average of .647 in four games with 8 RBI, 2 doubles and 2 home runs to lead her team to a sweep. The senior catcher from Texas scored 7 runs, went 11-17 in the batter's box and swiped two bags as part of an excellent series. From her catcher position, Leah had 25 putouts and a pair of assists as she steadied her team both offensively and defensively. Overall, Garcia posted an on-base percentage of .667 and a slugging percentage of 1.118 as she consistently hit the ball and got on base all weekend long.
