LAKEWOOD, CO- The 2026 Colorado Christian softball team continues to make history, and they made more on Monday as they were ranked as the #1 seed in the South Central Region and given the privilege to host an NCAA Regional for the first time in program history.
Larry Hays' Cougars have been nothing short of incredible this season, boasting a 53-5 overall record while going 42-2 in RMAC play and rattling off a program record 47 straight wins at one point in the season. The regular season conference champions have been setting records as a team and individually all year, and all their hard work and dedication has paid off as they will get to stay in Denver and host three schools at the Assembly Athletic Complex in Denver May 14-16.
All three teams headed to Colorado hail from the Lone Star Conference, including No. 4 seeded UT Tyler, No. 5 seeded Oklahoma Christian and No. 8 seeded St. Mary's (TX). The Cougars will face off with the Rattlers of St. Mary's in their first game of the regional at 12 p.m. MDT on Thursday May 14. It marks the first time in program history that the Cougars have earned the right to host an NCAA Regional, something the team has been building towards for years.
