LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the winner of the 2026 Summit Award for softball on Friday, and
Hanna Espinoza has earned the prestigious award for her efforts both in the classroom and on the diamond.
The RMAC's Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site of their respective sport's championship. Summit Award winners must compete in 20 percent of available competitions throughout the current season. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently concluded semester.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be sophomores or above and have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. They must also be active members of their teams and travel to and compete at the RMAC championship event.
Espinoza holds an impressive 4.00 Grade Point Average in Business Administration at Colorado Christian as she truly displays what it means to be a student athlete that performs at a high level both in the classroom and on the field of competition.
The best closer in the RMAC has been stellar in her junior season, holding an ERA of 2.00 in 56.0 innings pitched. Known for her strikeout stuff on her off speed pitches with movement, Hanna is 6-0 with 5 saves as she has been a massive part of the teams' historic success this year. Always someone to be counted on in long or short relief, she has come through for her team time and time again.
