LAKEWOOD, CO- Colorado Christian men's golf has been a premier program in NCAA Division II the past three years, winning a National Championship, finishing runner-up and quarterfinalists the past three seasons. They have no intention of lowering the standard during the 2026-27 season and have confidence and high hopes for another run at a title. In the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll the Cougars are ranked #18, a testament to the consistency and excellence of this squad. They continue to recruit at a high level, and Head Coach Cameron Sandland has brought in four talented new recruits to add to a deep roster for CCU.  Elijah Johnson comes to CCU from nearby East High School in Denver, and he has a long list of accolades throughout his playing career. Among those are player of the year honors in 2023, 2024 and 2025 in high school, first team all state senior year, US Jr. am participant in2026, US open final qualifying participant in 2026, CGA state junior championship quarter finalist and runner up 2024 and 2025 and top 5 AJGA at the mission club in 2026. Johnson will look to bring his talents to strengthen a stellar Cougars squad  Avery Jones arrives at Colorado Christian from Argyle, Texas where he honed his skills as a golfer. He comes from a family with success at the next level as his father played college golf at University of Texas and professionally for 10 years while his grandfather played for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. His favorite quote is "You learn more from the bad days than the good ones." Jones enjoyed the recent team trip to the mountains and the great team bonding that happened there.  Jude Robbins joins the Cougars from Frisco, Texas where he competed at Wakeland High School. Starring at Wakeland, Robbins was 2nd Team Academic All State in 2022, 2023 and 2026, and Wakeland High School Student Athlete Award all four years. His favorite moment as a golfer was making a 40 foot putt in the rain to win the 2023 HJGT National Championship in a playoff because it was cool to experience a meaningful victory with his dad right next to the green.  Julian Worrell comes to CCU from Montgomery, Texas. The sophomore played his first season of college golf at Houston Christian University before transferring to Colorado Christian. A true student-athlete, Worrell achieved Honor Roll in high school and won multiple tournaments during his career thus far. Worrell brings experience and skill to the team and will look to help the Cougars continue their dominance in DII golf. 

The Cougars begin the 2026-27 season at the Travis Roy Memorial September 13-15 at Powderhorn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming.
