Lubbers Nets Most Wins in CCU History

The victory over Colorado Mesa on Saturday night was a significant one for the program. The win kept the Cougars in the hunt for the RMAC title as they now sit in fourth place with an 8-3 record in RMAC play this year. However, the significance of the victory goes far beyond this season as the win was head coach Kevin Lubbers 81st as the head coach at Colorado Christian. Coach Lubbers now stands alone as the winningest coach in CCU program history. The win on Saturday night moved him one game ahead of his predecessor David Daniels who had 80 wins during his tenure at CCU.

Kevin came to CCU after two years as the head coach for Trinity Christian College. Kevin is now coaching in his sixth season for the Cougars, and he has developed the program into a force to be reckoned within the RMAC and NCCAA. He authored the 2014-15 season which ended with the program claiming their first ever National Christian College Championship.

At the end of the 2015-16 season, Lubbers celebrated earning his 100th victory as a head coach. He now has a career coaching record of 113-127. This year, he has the team in prime position as they are 11-6 overall, and 8-3 in conference play.

Come out and support coach Lubbers and the rest of the Cougars for their next home game on Tuesday night against CSU-Pueblo at the CCU Event Center. Tip is set for 7PM MST.
