DENTON, TX – Colorado Christian was back in action at the DBU Women's Classic which took place during September 21 and 22. Unlike last week, the Cougars played 54 holes in three different rounds, two on Monday, and the final round on Tuesday.
After the end of round three, the Cougars placed seventh, ending ten strokes above the only other RMAC competitor, Westminster. Emily Donaldson led the team with a final score of 223 (+7).
FIRST ROUND RECAP: The Cougars ended round one sitting tied for sixth, Donaldson led the way with a 69 (-3) score after 18 holes with six birdies and ten pars. Faith Kilgore was the second best score for the Cougars with a 77 (+5) score.
Emily Doeden scored an 83 (+11) over the first 18. Hannah Doran shot an 84 (+12) and Courtney Andersson shot an 86 (+14). Maggie Porter competing as an individual shot a 79 (+7).
SECOND ROUND RECAP: The second round on Monday, Kilgore led the way for the Cougars, shooting a 73 (+1) with four birdies. Donaldson still maintained her overall lead for the Cougars, shooting a 76 (+4) and putting her overall score at one over par for the tournament.
Andersson shot a 79 (+7), Doran shot an 81 (+9) and Doeden shot an 83 (+11) to round out the scoring golfers for the Cougars.
Porter shot an 80 (+8) for the second round but recorded an eagle on hole 17.
FINAL ROUND RECAP: In round three of the tournament, the Cougars finished out the tournament with two top 20 finishes. Faith Kilgore had the best third round shooting a 77 (+5) which put her at a final score of 227 (+11) which was tied her for 19th. Emily Donaldson shot a 78 (+8) which ended her tied for 11th.
Andersson, and Doran both shot an 82 (+10) with Doran scoring an eagle on hole six. Doeden shot an 81 (+9) which put all three players tied for 46th with a final score of 247 (+31).
Porter shot an 86 (+14) which put her at 44th with a final score of 245 (+29).
STATISCALLY SPEAKING
- The two eagles scored by Porter and Doran were the first two this season for the Cougars.
- The Cougars as a team were third in the tournament with 28 birdies.
