Cougars Looking for the Top in 2021 Season

LAKEWOOD, CO – The 2021 season is upon us as Colorado Christian is looking to improve upon a promising season cut short last season. The Cougars were tied for first in the RMAC upon the conclusion of the season in 2020.

Head Coach Larry Hays will be at the helm for the third season, as Coach Hays looks to improve upon his success in the first two seasons at Colorado Christian. His first season ended with a second place finish in the when the season was ended. RMAC and coached six all-conference players. His second season last year was shortened due to COVID-19 but the Cougars were at the top of the RMAC

OFFENSE: Bringing back some of the best players on the team along with exciting first year players will be the key to the Cougars success on offense this season.

Senior stalwarts Stephanie Day and Kacie Burger will be up the middle with Burger at short and Day at second. On the corners will be Freshman Kayla Middleton at the hot corner and Sophomore Samaria Roope at first base.

In the outfield Sophomore Sami Edwards will be patrolling center field with Senior Sydney Reamer and Freshman Kenize Middleton on either side of her.

PITCHING: Senior Jennifer Romero will return as one of the top pitchers for the Cougars, joining her will be Junior transfer Julie Katz.

Caitlin McCarthy, who is a constant for the Cougar pitching staff will be holding it down behind the plate this season.

Sydney Rawlings and Brenna Segoria along with Roope and Reamer will also be seen in the circle this season for the Cougars as they look to improve the pitching and become the most complete team in the RMAC.

SCHEDULE: The Cougars will be playing in 44 games this season which includes a shortened non RMAC schedule. They will have four non-conference games and then play in 40 conference games to decide the RMAC. Currently there is still a NCAA championship season, the winner of the RMAC tournament will get an automatic bid to the NCAA regional tournament.
