LAS VEGAS – The Colorado Christian women's golf team first trip to the Sin City has a mix of satisfaction but also the desire to get better.
Satisfied with a near first place team and individual finish but, knowing their potential isn't reached yet.
On a pair of blustery days, the Cougars finished second in the eight-team field with a two round total of 637 (+61) at the Warrior Invitational hosted at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club.
Northeastern State won the event with a 622 (+46).
Individually Faith Kilgore finished tied for third after shooting 36-hole total of 155 (+11). The junior fired a 77 on the first day then finished with a 78 during the last 18 holes. She finished just two strokes off of the leader.
Emily Donaldson also posted a top 10 finish with a 159 (+15) to finish in a sixth place tie. Maggie Porter had the best finish in her fifth collegiate event as the freshman carded a 161 (+17) to place tied for ninth.
Emily Doeden registered a tie for 11th by firing a two-day total of 162 (+18). Courtney Andersson fought her way to a 176 (+32) while Gabi Cortez, playing as an individual notched a 188 (+44).
Colorado Christian will take a two week hiatus before they travel to CSU Pueblo on March 21 for the El Cheapo Classic.
