Last Week's Recap
Colorado Christian split their two matches last week. On Thursday, April 1 they held Adams State without a shot in a 1-0 victory. Two days later they dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 OT contest against Fort Lewis. Despite trailing 1-0 and playing with 10-men, the Cougars forced overtime with a
Silas Hess goal in the 84th minute.Â
What A Win Would Mean ...Â
The Cougars have already clinched their first five-win season since the 2014 campaign. A win today gives the Cougars six wins for the first time since the 1999 campaign. Moreover it would be the programs first season with a better than.500 winning percentage for the first time ever. In 1999, Colorado Christian finished exactly .500 at 9-9.Â
More History
During the early weeks of the season the Cougars earned four separated RMACÂ weekly honors.
Ben Hess,
Jorge Lopez and
Gabe Roloff earned Offensive Player of the Week honors while
Chayce Willet was named the Defensive Player of the Week on one occasion.Â
From a scoring perspective, the team's 12 goals are the most in a season since 2017 when the Cougars scored 13 in 18 games. This season they are averaging 1.20 goals per game which is the best average since the 1999 campaign.Â
