Last Week's Recap

Colorado Christian split their two matches last week. On Thursday, April 1 they held Adams State without a shot in a 1-0 victory. Two days later they dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 OT contest against Fort Lewis. Despite trailing 1-0 and playing with 10-men, the Cougars forced overtime with a Silas Hess goal in the 84th minute.

What A Win Would Mean ...

The Cougars have already clinched their first five-win season since the 2014 campaign. A win today gives the Cougars six wins for the first time since the 1999 campaign. Moreover it would be the programs first season with a better than.500 winning percentage for the first time ever. In 1999, Colorado Christian finished exactly .500 at 9-9.

More History

During the early weeks of the season the Cougars earned four separated RMAC weekly honors. Ben Hess, Jorge Lopez and Gabe Roloff earned Offensive Player of the Week honors while Chayce Willet was named the Defensive Player of the Week on one occasion.

From a scoring perspective, the team's 12 goals are the most in a season since 2017 when the Cougars scored 13 in 18 games. This season they are averaging 1.20 goals per game which is the best average since the 1999 campaign.

Scoring Notes

The Cougars have had seven different goal scorers this season with Dmitri Fabro's and Liam Lakey's three goals leading the squad. Ben Hess has scored twice with Silas Hess, Gabe Roloff, Larson Hanlin and Jorge Lopez each finding the back of the cage once. Roloff has registered a team best three assists.

Lakey has taken a team high 14 total shots while Fabro has registered 13.

The Netminders

Max Collingwood has started all 10 games as the Cougars primary goalkeeper. The sophomore has a .692 save percentage with a 1.62 goals against average. He has registered a 1.5 shutouts this season. Michel Pinoncely has seen action in three games playing just under 57 total minutes.

Newcomers Everywhere

The 22-person roster for the Cougars features 14 players who are new to the Colorado Christian program. However, not all of them are new to the collegiate game as Cameron Hoff and Alex Trinidad, both come from NCAA programs while Chayce Willett played at Laramie Community College for two seasons.

Playing time has been plentiful among the new guys as Caiden Dixon (877 minutes) leads the team with Chayce Willet (785), Tiago Pinto (712), Eli Donaho (711) and Silas Hess (698) playing the third through sixth most minutes respectively. Four of the teams 12 goals have come from a newcomer.

RMAC Honors

The Cougars have claimed conference weekly honors four times already this season.

Ben Hess was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after the season opening victory against Colorado Christian. The following week, Jorge Lopez and Chayce Willet earned Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively after the Cougars beats Regis.

Freshman Gabe Roloff earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades after helping the Cougars beat Bethany and Tabor during a two-game road swing through the Jayhawk State.

Head Coach - Brad Camp

Brad Camp will head into his second season at the helm for the Cougars. Camp was named the program's fourth head coach in December of 2018.

Camp, who brings a host of accolades to the school, joins the department after serving as the assistant coach at East Tennessee State for two seasons, during which he won a regular season conference championships.

The Tennessee native holds national B, C, D, E and Youth licenses in coaching education from the U.S. Soccer Federation. He also has goalkeeper level I and II licenses and Director of Coaching diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches.

Prior to joining the Buccaneers, Camp was an assistant coach at Maryville College as well as the head coach for the Knoxville Force of the National Premier Soccer League. Camp has also served as the boys director for the Alliance Development Centers for the Knoxville-based youth club, FC Alliance. In addition he also held the role as an assistant director for Tennessee's Olympic Development Program.

He played collegiately at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) where he manned the left back position. During his senior campaign he was named a TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athlete.
