Starting Well Times Two

For the second straight season the Cougars are 4-0. After never starting a season with four straight wins prior to the 2020-21 campaign, the program has done it twice in less than a years time. A win on Friday would mark the program's first 5-0 start.

Still Winning

Dating back to last season, the Cougars have won five straight games and six of their last seven contests. This is the Cougars first five-game winning streak in program history.

Recapping Last Week

The Cougars mid-week game against Bethany was canceled due to the Swedes not being able to make the trip from Kansas. In the team's lone game last week, they produced a 2-1 win against Adams State in overtime. Colorado Christian held a 1-0 lead after a Gabe Roloff goal early in the contest. The Grizzles tied the score in the game's last 10 minutes before a Jorge Lopez PK early in the extra session sealed the win.

Conference Teams but Non-Conference Results

Colorado Christian will play 10 total RMAC games this year but we have 14 games against an RMAC foe. The Cougars are playing Adams State twice, UCCS and South Dakota Mines as non-conference games before officially beginning RMAC play on Friday, Oct. 1 at Fort Lewis. Colorado Christian will play each of those three opponents in October and will count in the league standings.

The Season Stats

The Cougars are tied with Regis for third in the RMAC for allowing just 1.00 goals per game. Only Colorado Mesa and CSU Pueblo are allowing less than a goal per game.

Individually, Roloff is tied for second among conference players for goals scored (3) with Adrian Diez's two assists tying him for sixth in the league during the early season schedule. Max Collingwood hs posted the sixth best save percentage in the league (.714)

Road Warriors

Dating back to last season, the Cougars have won eight of their last nine road contests. It is the best eight game road steak in school history. During the abbreviated spring 2021 season, Colorado lost just one of their road contests (at Colorado School of Mines), while posting a 5-1 record on the road.

History in (Spring) 2021

The 6-5 mark the Cougars tallied during their spring season marked the first time in school history they achieved a winning record. It was accomplished in sweet fashion as they won their final game of the year at CSU Pueblo (1-0). It was just the second win in program history at the conference rival in 16 road contests at CSU Pueblo.

They started the year 4-0, marking the first time that has ever happen in school history.
