In the 1-0 win against South Dakota Mines on Friday, Lakey scored in the 64th minute and Max Collingwood made a pair of saves in the victory. Just over 48 hours later, Lakey scored two times in a seven minute span as Colorado Christian beat UCCS for the first time in 17 years. All three of the game's goals were scored in a seven minute span between the 51st and 57th minutes. Both games were considered non-conference contests.

The last time the Cougars started league play with a victory was during the 2017 season when they beat MSU Denver 1-0. Since Friday's game is a road RMAC contest, the last conference road opening victory for the Cougars came in 2002 against MSU Denver (W, 1-0).
Still Winning

Difficult to Score Against
With the Cougars giving up just five goals this season, they have done something not seen in 20 years within the program. The last time the Cougars gave up five (or fewer) goals in any six-game stretch was the 2001 season. If you include the final game of the 2020-21 spring season, they program has never had a stretch like that are experiencing now - only five goals (or fewer) goals in a seven-game stretch.
Colorado Christian has allowed two (or more) goals in a game just one time in their previous nine games. Fort Lewis registered a 2-1 win in overtime during the squads final home game in the spring.
The Season Stats
From a team perspective, the five goals the Cougars have allowed is the second fewest allowed among RMAC teams. Only CSU Pueblo (3) have allowed fewer goals.
Offensively Liam Lakey is tied with five other RMAC players with four goals; the most in the league. Gabe Roloff is just behind that group with three net-finders. As a team the Cougars 11 total goals is tied for sixth in the RMAC.
