COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- The Cougars headed down to UCCS for the second straight weekend to take part in the Colorado Running Company Mountain Lion Open. Colorado Christian excelled with several more NCAA Provisional Qualifying times posted.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Hannah George and Elizabeth Gueck started off day one with the 60m, finishing with times of 7.91 and 8.74 respectively. Callie Ketner impressed in the 5000m, finishing on the podium in third place with a time of 18:51.09. Tara Smoker finished ninth in the 200m with a mark of 27.34.Â
Day two saw excellent performances from Shannon King and Paige Tack in the one mile. King finished second with an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 5:07.21. Tack followed in third with a time of 5:09.27, another NCAA qualifying time. Ana Muehlbauer took home sixth for the Cougars in the 3000m with a time of 11:18.73.Â
MEN'S RECAP
Noah Burroughs kicked off things for the men with a 12th place finish in the 5000m with a time of 16:39.93. Mathew Olech finished second in the 200m, posting a mark of 2:00.37. Tanner James placed seventh, finishing in a time of 2:02.50.Â
The one mile run saw a number of strong performances from the Cougars. Isaac Russo led the pack for his team, finishing fourth with a time of 4:21.81. Hudson Majeski followed in fifth with a mark of 4:22.49. Trent Cochran and Chase Bracher came in sixth and seventh with times of 4:27.95 and 4:35.16. Kyle Gee rounded out the Cougars runners in tenth with a time of 4:37.67. Nicholas Ramirez finished on the podium in the 3000m, coming in third with a time of 9:07.44.
UP NEXT- Colorado Christian will now head to the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan on February 11-12.
