The Colorado Christian Cross Country team recently finished the most successful season in program history after placing third in the NCAA National Championships at the beginning of December. A vital part of the success can be contributed to the talented trio of runners for the team
Josh Pierantoni,
Matthew Storer and
Trent Cochran. All three ran tremendously throughout the season, and have been honored as All-Americans for the season after finishing in the Top 40 at the Championships.
Â
Josh Pierantoni:Â Â Â Â As a senior, Josh anchored and led a team as they pushed for the podium throughout the year. He saved the best for last as he ran his career best time of 30:08.06 in the 10K which placed him in 11
th place overall in the Nation. He bettered his time from the NCAA Championships in 2021 by over a minute as he ran 31:12.4. This marks the second year in a row that Pierantoni has been named an All-American.
Â
Matthew Storer:Â Â Â Â Storer came in just a few seconds behind his teammate to finish with a time of 30:14.2. His time gave him a 17
th place finish in the Nation, and helped to bolster the team score and push the Cougars to finishing on the podium in third place and also earn him the All-American honors. The redshirt freshman shows you that his future is bright as he continues with the program.
Â
 Â
Trent Cochran:Â Â Â Â Cochran also had a stellar National Championship race as he finished in 31
st place with a time of 30:24.8. The junior earned his first All-American award for Cross Country in his third year competing at the Championships. He will have a big role in the program moving forward, and with his ability, the program is in good hands.
Â
All three runners played an integral part of the team this year and were main factors for the program having its best finish in program history, and cementing their name into history by being named All-Americans for the 2022 season. Â
