CHADRON, NE- The Cougars traveled to Nebraska to take part in the RMAC Championships hosted by Chadron State April 28-30. CCU saw several strong finishes over the course of the three days at the championships, and one provisional time to propel them towards Nationals. 

For the women, Hannah George took part in the 100 and 200m events. In the 100, George ran to a personal best time of 12.22. She then competed in the 200m, running a 25.13. Madeline Schmeling ran the 100m as well, posting a time of 13.02. Next up was Tara Smoker in the 400m, and she ran a 56.81 to take fourth overall in the race. Molly Miller ran a time of 4:40.88 in the 1500m.

In the distance events, Callie Ketner ran the 5000m and posted a time of 17:58.80. Ashley Vil placed well in the triple jump, leaping to a mark of 11.61m for fourth place in the event.

Tyler Bradley ran the 100m for the men, taking fifth with a run of 10.74. He then took third in the 200m with a time of  21.25, good enough to earn him an NCAA Provisional Time. In the 400m, Jonah Beard ran a strong race for a time of 49.78  to become the first runner at CCU to crack the 50 second mark. Mateo Luna narrowly missed the finals in his first RMAC Championships, posting a strong time of 1:55.00 in the 800m. Jacob Marker posted a 1:59.56 in the event, while Mason Gansz and Gabe Ring turned in times of 1:59.59 and 2:00.61 respectively. 

In the 1500m, Klay Grant qualified for the finals and had a strong showing with a time of 4:01.32. Isaac Roberts ran the lengthy 5000m race and posted a time of 15:15.71. Luke Meyer came in right behind with a 15:20.85, while Tate Fletcher ran a 15:26.59. Noah Burroughs ran the 10,000m to a time of 33:16.23. 

The Cougars will now take part in a last chance meet at CSU Pueblo May 6 as they look to post their best times before Nationals at the end of May.
