COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- Cross Country made the short trip south to compete in the UCCS open on Friday morning. The two teams ran gritty races throughout, taking on some tough competition and running well.
The men led off in the morning in the 8k, and
Mathew Olech led his team with a run of 26:45.8.
Tyler Schwarz came next with a time of 27:00.8.
Nico Ramirez followed with a run of 27:18.1 while
Colden Welsh posted a 27:27.0.
Evan McClinton posted a 27:32.0, and
Drew Stilson ran a 27:58.4.
Kale Edmonds ran a time of 28:12.5 while
Michael Mote ran a 29:06.2.
David Jaquez came next with a 30:36.4, and
Jacob Marker closed with a 31:02.0.
Mason Gansz ran a 32:03.0 to close the race.
The women came next in the 6k, and
Kaylie Bookout led the Cougars with a strong run of 24:01.7.
Alayna Wallace came next with a 24:21.0 while
Sarah Hamlin posted a 24:42.5.
Brooke Connolly ran a 25:01.5, and
Madison Burkholder posted a 25:32.3.
Emma Flowers ran a time of 26:50.9 to close.
The rest of the team will be in action in Romeoville, Illinois on October 12 at the prestigious Lewis Crossover as they look to post a strong result.
