COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- The Cougars took on the rest of the conference on Saturday as they competed at the RMAC Championships at Monument Valley Park. The women finished in 10th place, while the men took 8th as several runners also competed in the open portion of the race.
The women began in the 6k, and
Lorelei Daugherty led her team with a time of 22:22.9.
Rachel Harpt came next with a 23:12.1, and
Kaylie Bookout and
Alysia Wagner ran times of 23:23.6 and 23:24.5 respectively.
Nora Thompson and Ava Maginity came next, while
Sophia Graber,
Kate Miller and
Olivia Bell closed out the race as the team claimed 10th overall.
In the open section,
Dakota Danaher and
Mari Calene led with times of 23:50.9 and 23:51.0. Four more Cougars competed to close the event.
In the 8k, the men were paced by
Jay Wood who ran a time of 25:52.5.
Zach Vance followed with a run of 25:55.4, while
Clayton Ackley finished with a 26:01.0.
Isaac Roberts and
Nico Ramirez followed, while
Joseph Lethlean and
Colden Welsh came next.
Tate Fletcher and
Tyler Schwarz closed the event for their team as CCU came in 8th overall.
In the open,
Drew Stilson ran a 27:16.6, and
Iain Embry finished with a 28:25.8.
Colorado Christian now gets ready for the biggest race of their year to date at the NCAA South Central Regionals on November 8 in Pueblo at Walking Stick Golf Course.
