Cougars are Regionals Bound!

LAKEWOOD, CO- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the selections for the eight team South Central regional on Monday evening. After an excellent season that saw the Cougars make their first ever RMAC Tournament Final, CCU is headed to Regionals for the second time in program history as the 8 seed.

The path to Regionals was not always easy as Colorado Christian battled obstacles and some strong competition in the RMAC throughout the year. The team really found their stride in the final portion of the regular season, ripping off three straight sweeps to give them the 6 seed heading into the RMAC Tournament. Once there, they toppled 3 seed South Dakota Mines on the road in four sets to set up a showdown in the semifinals against #17 nationally and #2 seed Colorado Mesa. CCU played tremendous volleyball as they handled the Mavericks easily with a sweep to book a spot in their first ever RMAC Tournament Championship game. Though they fell to host and nationally ranked #3 MSU Denver in the finals, the Cougars showed incredible fight and resiliency as they got revenge for the past three years against Colorado Mesa and also proved they can play in a tough road environment in the victory in Rapid City.

The NCAA South Central Regionals will be hosted in San Angelo, Texas by Angelo State University and will begin on Friday, December 6. Colorado Christian is set to play the host Rambelles on December 6th with first serve slated for 6 p.m. MST.
