VISTA, CA- Colorado Christian opened up the spring season March 11-12 in California at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational at the Shadowridge Golf Club. CCU competed hard amongst the 15 schools there, finishing 13th at the end of three rounds in Vista.
ROUND ONE
Mary Beth Doss came out firing on day one, carding a 78 to lead her team in the round.
Kylee Hughes shot a 79 followed by an 81 from
Makenna Brown.
Raya Schulz and
Anna Mettler shot 84s to close out the first round.
ROUND TWO
Doss shot an 83 in round two while Brown posted an 80. Mettler was strong with a 79 and Hughes and Schulz shot 85 and 86 respectively.
ROUND THREE
Doss closed with a 75 as she finished in a tie for 37th overall. Schulz closed strong with a 71 and Brown shot an 80 as the pair tied for 51st. Hughes carded a final round 84 to tie for 64th, while Mettler posted an 89 to tie for 70th.
As a team, the Cougars shot 959 (322, 327, 310) over the three rounds to claim 13th place overall.
Colorado Christian will return to the course in Colorado March 24-25 at the Southern Colorado Open at Walking Stick Golf Club in Pueblo.
