TUCSON, AZ- The Cougars continued play in Arizona April 1-2 as they participated in the West Texas A&M Desert Invite. CCU battled among 19 teams at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon for 36 holes, claiming 14th overall after two days of play.
ROUND ONE
Mary Beth Doss led her team in the first round with a score of 77 as she sank three birdies.
Raya Schulz followed with an 80 while
Makenna Brown posted an 83.
Kylee Hughes carded a 93 and
Anna Mettler closed with a 97 to finish the round.
ROUND TWO
Schulz closed strong, shooting a 74 with a trio of birdies to nab a tie for 20th overall. Doss carded an 82 as she came in a tie for 37th, while Brown posted an 80 to place tied for 61st. Hughes improved from round one with a 79 on three birdies for a tie for 88th, while Mettler closed with an 85 to claim 101st.
As a team, the Cougars shot a 648 (333, 315) to claim 15th out of the 19 teams competing.
Colorado Christian will stay in Arizona to compete at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear April 5-6 at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
