Colorado Christian Claim Program's First RMAC Tournament Title in Nevada

BOULDER CITY, NV- The Cougars headed to the Boulder Creek Golf Club April 21-23 to take part in the RMAC Championships with a title in mind. The team delivered throughout the three rounds of play, breaking their single round record of 270 with a 269 in round one on their way to the first ever conference tournament victory in program history. 

ROUND ONE 
It was an unbelievable display from the team on day one as they set the tone early on that they were the team to beat in Nevada. Adam Duncan began with an incredible 66, netting five birdies and an eagle on his way to the six under par round. Xavier Bighaus matched his teammate with a 66 of his own on an impressive seven birdies. Dylan Arthur posted a strong score of 68 on five birdies, while Bradley Mulder fired a 69 with two birdies and an eagle. Peyton Jones closed under par as well with a 71 on four birdies as the team scored a new program record of 269 (-19) in the first round. 

ROUND TWO
Duncan continued his tournament with a 69 on seven birdies to go three under. Bighaus was one better, firing a 68 with six birdies in his second round. Jones closed with a 71, followed by Mulder with a 72. Arthur posted a 74 as the team took a seven stroke lead into the final day of play. 

ROUND THREE
Duncan was clinical in the final round, posting another sub-par round with a 68 on five birdies and an eagle as he finished the tournament 13 under par to claim the individual title by two strokes. Bighaus tallied a pair of birdies to shoot a 77 and claim fifth place overall. Arthur claimed a tie for 8th with a 71, while Mulder tied him in eighth with a 72 on the day. Jones posted a final round 74 as he tied for 15th in an incredible team display. 

Overall, the team totaled 834 (269, 280, 285) for an astounding 30 under par to claim the victory by nine strokes over runner-up Colorado Mesa. The team sank an incredible 59 birdies and 3 eagles on their way to the first RMAC Tournament Championship title in program history. 

With the victory, the Cougars get an automatic qualification to the NCAA West/South Central Regional Championships in Las Cruces, New Mexico May 9-11. The team has high hopes as they look to advance to their first-ever NCAA National Championships in program history.
