LAKEWOOD, CO- The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced their Division II Ping All-Region teams on Tuesday, and after stellar seasons for the Cougars,
Peyton Jones and
Bradley Mulder have earned the distinction.
Jones has had his best year as a college golfer in his senior year, reaching new heights as a contender in every tournament. The native of Roswell, New Mexico claimed his first collegiate victory at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya in Mexico, and he followed with another victory in the fall in Hawaii at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate. He closed the regular season in the spring with his third win of the season in Pueblo at the Sam Proal Insurance Invite. Peyton will cap his storied career at the NCAA National Championships where he has played with his team for three straight seasons and won the title in the 2023-2024 season.
Mulder transferred back to CCU at semester, and he picked up right where he left off with excellent golf. The junior built momentum with a third place finish at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, and he continued his stellar play into the RMAC Championships. The Washington native was in control from start to finish as he closed with a total of 8-under par to claim the RMAC Individual title. Mulder showed he is not just the best player in the conference, but one of the best in the entire region as he took second place at -9 at the West/South Central Regional. Mulder ranks first in the region and 13th in the country with a scoring average of 70.3 through 17 rounds of golf. He will look to help his team to a second national title in three seasons at the NCAA National Championships in Nevada this week.
