BOULDER CITY, NV- The Cougars closed their season at the RMAC Championships at the Boulder Creek Golf Club April 21-23. The team played well, claiming fourth place out of the 11 teams there to finish their season.
ROUND ONE
Mary Beth Doss started strong as she carded a 72 with a pair of birdies.
Raya Schulz followed with a 76 with two birdies of her own.
Makenna Brown and
Anna Mettler posted scores of 78, while
Kylee Hughes shot a 79.
ROUND TWO
Round two saw Doss net three birdies, finishing with a 78. Schulz posted an 83, while Mettler and Brown were strong with 75s. Hughes closed with a 79 as the team headed to the final day.
ROUND THREE
Doss carded a final round 79 as she came in a tie for 12th overall. Schulz was excellent, sinking four birdies on her way to a 71 for one under par and 16th place. Mettler posted an 81 as she tied for 20th, while Brown shot an 82 for a tie for 24th. A final round 80 from Hughes gave her a tie for 30th to close the tourney.
As a team, CCU totaled a 922 (304, 307, 311) to close the tournament in fourth place in a strong showing.
The Cougars season now comes to a close, and with a lot of returning talent, the future is certainly bright for CCU moving forward.
