GOODYEAR, AZ- Colorado Christian completed their final tune up before the RMAC Championships at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Arizona. Through two rounds of play over two days, CCU finished 18th overall in the desert as they will now prepare for the conference tournament April 21-23.
ROUND ONE
Makenna Brown led the team in the first round as she carded a 78.
Raya Schulz and
Kylee Hughes both posted 80s while
Mary Beth Doss shot an 81.
Anna Mettler closed with an 86 to finish up round one.
ROUND TWO
Brown was excellent in the second round, firing an even par 72 with three birdies to claim a tie for 29th. Schulz followed with a 74 as she nabbed a tie for 54th overall. Hughes shot a 77 to tie for 69th, while Mettler carded an 80 for a tie for 100th. Doss closed with an 81 as she finished tied for 90th.
The Cougars improved from round to round, finishing with a total of 622 (319, 303) to claim 18th place overall.
Colorado Christian will return home to get ready for the RMAC Championships that will be held April 21-23 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
