LAKEWOOD, CO- The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the South Central All-Region Teams on Monday, and after stellar seasons, four players earned a spot on the All-Region Team.
Kayla Middleton nabbed a spot on the First Team after a tremendous year at second base and at the plate. The senior led her team in batting average at .428, hits with 89, triples with 5 and total bases with 159. She also paced her squad with an on-base percentage of .472 while going 18 for 18 on stolen base attempts. With 65 runs scored, 14 homers blasted and 59 RBI, Middleton was a huge part of leading her team to their third straight Regionals appearance. In the field, Kayla had 142 putouts, 63 assists for a .967 fielding percentage. For her outstanding efforts for her team, Kayla has been named First Team All-Region by the D2CCA.
Kenzie Middleton garnered her second straight First Team honor after a splendid senior campaign with the Cougars at catcher. The Golden native batted for an average of .363 with 72 runs, 74 hits and a team high of 71 RBI with 18 home runs, another category she led the team in. In the field, Kenzie was excellent, displaying great skill from her catcher position. Middleton recorded 202 putouts and 18 assists for a fielding percentage of .991 as she led her team with her strong arm that caught baserunners off guard numerous times. For her stellar overall play throughout the season, Kenzie has been named First Team All-Region by the D2CCA.
Logan Menzies earned herself a spot on the Second Team this season after remaining at the center of the teams' success at the plate and in right field. The graduate student hit for an average of .343, scored 54 runs on 58 hits and tallied 11 homers for a total of 47 RBI. In right field, Menzies was as reliable as you could hope for, tallying 65 putouts and 3 assists for a fielding percentage of .986 to help her team to another memorable season. For her strong overall efforts for her team, Menzies has been named Second Team All-Region by the D2CCA.
Kaila Eastburn picked up a Second Team nod for her contributions as a designated player. The graduate transfer from Grand Canyon University showed great versatility, excelling at the plate and in the circle for her squad. With a batting average of .422 and a team high OPS of 1.256, Eastburn was stellar at the dish with 49 runs scored on 81 hits, a team high 24 doubles, 14 homers and 68 RBI to make a massive impact for her team. In the circle, Kaila finished with a record of 17-3 as she dominated opposing batters with an ERA of 3,34 with a team high 104 strikeouts and 137.1 innings pitched. With 6 complete game victories, Eastburn was essential in getting the Cougars to the postseason as she made a difference both batting and pitching. For her numerous contributions for her team in 2024, Eastburn has been named Second Team All-Region by the D2CCA.
