LAKEWOOD, CO- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their watch list for player of the year on Wednesday, and after an excellent start to the season, Kat Hanson and Arriana Wright have been named to the prestigious list. 

Hanson is off to a fantastic start to her sophomore campaign as she has led her team to 30 straight wins and leads the team in a number of categories. The most consistent hitter on a team full of strong bats, Kat currently sports a .504 batting average, an OPS of 1.412 and a team high 66 hits in 131 at bats. With 46 runs scored, Hanson has made her mark in every game she has played in, tallying 11 doubles, 4 triples and a team leading 10 home runs with 42 RBI. With a slugging percentage of .878 and an on-base percentage of .534, Kat has made an incredible impact on the 310 ranked Cougars and will continue to make an impact as the team sets their sights on postseason play in May. 

Wright transferred into CCU this year and has made an immediate impact on the team. Leading the Cougars with 55 RBI, Arriana has posted a batting average of .410 and an OPS of 1.254, starting in all 36 games thus far for her team. With 48 hits in 117 total at bats, the senior has scored 41 runs, smacked 12 doubles, 2 triples and 9 homers. She currently has a slugging percentage of .778 and an on-base percentage of .476. The efforts of Wright have propelled CCU to 30 straight wins and 24 straight in conference play as they look to keep rolling into the postseason.
