DENVER, CO- The Cougars competed at the nearby Roadrunner Invitational hosted at Wash Park in Denver Saturday morning. The team saw some strong results as they competed against a mixture of DI and DII schools in the states' capital city.
The men got started first as they raced in the 8k, led by
Clayton Ackley with a time of 26:34.97.
Mathew Olech came next with a run of 26:39.21, and
Colden Welsh posted a time of 26:49.51.
Tyler Schwarz ran a 26:53.58 while
Nico Ramirez ran a time of 27:24.66.
Michael Mote ran a 28:37.06 and
Evan McClinton posted a time of 28:43.33.
Drew Stilson ran a 29:12.41 while
David Jaquez ran a 30:18.48.
Mason Gansz finished with a 30:37.73 while
Jacob Marker closed with a run of 30.59.21.
The women came next in the 6k, and
Nora Thompson led the team with a run of 23:39.21.
Kaylie Bookout followed with a 24:04.02, and
Rachel Harpt posted a time of 24:08.64.
Lorelei Daugherty ran a 24:32.30 while
Maleah Wardlaw posted a 24:42.71.
Sarah Hamlin ran a 24:59.35, and
Alayna Wallace posted a time of 25:18.26.
Madison Burkholder finished with a time of 25:26.53, and
Kara Krulick posted a 26:29.96.
Emma Flowers closed out the day with a time of 26:38.55.
The team will take a few weeks now to prepare for the UCCS XC Open at Monument Valley Park on October 11.
