Colorado Christian Claim Fifth at Southern Colorado Open

PUEBLO, CO- The Cougars continued the spring season March 23-24 at the Southern Colorado Open at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo. Led by a strong performance from Raya Schulz, CCU claimed fifth place overall among 13 teams competing. 

ROUND ONE 
Schulz led her team in the first round, firing a two under par 70 with five birdies to start hot. Makenna Brown came next with a 75, and Mary Beth Doss shot a 76. Hannah Martin shot an 81, and Anna Mettler closed with an 86 to close day one. 

ROUND TWO
Schulz closed with a 79 in the second round, finishing in ninth place overall. Doss ended with a final round 77 with a pair of birdies as she claimed 14th place. Brown shot an 80 as she finished in 25th overall. Mettler shot a 76 and Martin fired an 81 as they tied for 45th overall. 

As a team, the Cougars shot an overall score of 614 (302, 312) as they finished in fifth place out of the 13 teams competing.

The Cougars will continue their season at the West Texas Desert Invitational that will take place at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon March 31-April1.
