GOODYEAR, AZ- The Cougars closed the regular season on Saturday as they wrapped up play at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Arizona. Led by a final round 71 from
Raya Schulz, CCU finished in 14th place overall out of the 22 teams competing.
ROUND ONE
Schulz and
Mary Beth Doss led off in the first round as they each carded 74s. Schulz had a birdie while Doss netted two in the round.
Kylee Hughes came next with a 76, followed by a 78 from
Makenna Brown.
Anna Mettler shot 83 to close the first round.
Hannah Martin competed as an individual at the tournament, and she led off with a first round 76 on a pair of birdies.
ROUND TWO
Schulz closed with an excellent round, firing a 71 with three birdies to tie for 13th. Doss closed with an 80 to finish tied for 53rd, while a 79 from Brown and an 81 from Hughes tied the teammates for 78th. Mettler posted a final round 82 to tie for 105th.
Martin closed the tournament with an 89 as she tied her teammate for 105th.
As a team, the Cougars shot a total of 613 (302, 311) as they claimed 14th place overall.
The team will now prepare for the upcoming RMAC Championships April 20-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
