LAKEWOOD, CO- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced their qualifiers for the 2024-2025 Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Tuesday. Set to take place at the nearby CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl May 22-24, Shannon King and Matthew Storer have qualified to compete among the nations' best later this month. 

King earned her spot in the 1500m after running a strong time of 4:21.97 in the event at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California in April. Shannon will be making her third overall appearance at the Outdoor Championships as she has previously made it in the 3000m steeplechase in 2022 and 2024. After earning a fourth place finish for All-American honors in the indoor mile earlier this year, King has high hopes for another strong performance in the 1500m. The prelims for the event will take place on May 22 at 5:10 p.m. MDT with the finals to follow on May 24 at 5:35 p.m. MDT as Shannon enters with the 11th fastest time in the field. 

Storer will be making his third straight appearance in the 10k at the Outdoor National Championships after running a time of 28:48.39 at the Mines kit Mayer Classic in April. Matt has previously finished 4th in 2023 and fifth in 2024 in the 10k as he already has two All-American honors to his name in the event. His best finish came two years ago at the same spot the championships will be held this year in Pueblo. Storer will close day one at Nationals in the final event of the day on May 22 at 8:50 p.m. MDT.
