LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their postseason awards for men's golf, and the #1 team in the nation took home two major awards and placed six golfers on the First Team. After guiding his team to a perfect record in DII tournaments,
Mark Hull was named the Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season.
Adam Duncan nabbed golfer of the year honors for the second straight season after four tournament victories this season and a #1 overall ranking in DII.
Duncan has been on a tear his final collegiate season, claiming Player of the Year for the second straight year. The senior has four tournament victories and 7 top 3 finishes as he boasts an incredible scoring average of 68.7. Recently selected to the prestigious Arnold Palmer Cup in June, Duncan will look to lead his team to a second consecutive National Championship later this month.
Sungyeop Cho takes home an All-RMAC First Team distinction and ranks as the #2 golfer in DII. The sophomore transfer has won a pair of tournaments this year including the National Championship Preview. With 5 top 3 finishes, Cho has a 69.2 scoring average as the Cougars head to the National Championships.
Sangha Park was awarded First Team All-RMAC after a stellar season that saw him earn the #3 ranking in DII. Park has been consistent all year and has earned two tournament victories and 6 top 3 finishes. His recent overall score of -17 to win the RMAC Tournament set a program record, and he shot a course record 62 in round two in Nevada. The graduate student will look to help CCU win consecutive DII titles later this month.
Xavier Bighaus nabbed First Team Honors and is having a senior season to remember, ranking as the #6 golfer in DII. With a pair of victories and 4 top 3 finishes, Bighaus has been a huge part of the teams' success this season. His most impressive win came at the DI Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate where he claimed the win over Division 1 competition. He will look to take his team to new heights with a back-to-back trophy at the NCAA National Championships later this month.
Peyton Jones secured First Team All-RMAC after posting a scoring average of 71.8 and being ranked #17 in the region. The junior has been playing his best golf as of late, claiming fourth at the last regular season tournament before finishing 6th at RMACs and 20th at Regionals. Peyton will be a key component to the National Championship team competing next week.
Bradley Mulder earned First Team recognition after a stellar sophomore campaign that saw him average 71.6 in 23 rounds of competition. The big-hitting Washington native has a pair of top 10 finishes and has been consistent for his team all year long.
Hull has turned the Colorado Christian men's golf program from the worst team in DII to the best in the nation during his tenure with the Cougars. The reigning National Champions have been ranked #1 from the beginning of the year to the end, holding an unreal head-to-head record of 130-0-0 against DII competition. The award marks the third straight for Mark as he has taken CCU to new heights under his guidance as they look to win consecutive National Championships.
