AMARILLO, TX- A memorable season for the Cougars came to a close at the NCAA West Regional held at La Paloma Golf Club in Amarillo. The team battled wind, rain and a delay of round 2 that forced them to play 36 holes on the final day as they finished in 16th place overall to finish the year. 

ROUND ONE 
Kylee Hughes started things off on day one with a 78. Makenna Brown followed with an 81 and Mary Beth Doss fired an 82. Hannah Martin closed with an 87 and Anna Mettler tallied an 88 to close round one. 

ROUND TWO
After rain and inclement weather pushed the second round from Tuesday to Wednesday, Raya Schulz came out and fired a 70 to go one under par with four birdies. Doss and Martin shot 73s as they combined for six birdies. Hughes shot a 74 while Brown closed with a 75. 

ROUND THREE
Picking up round three immediately after the second round, Brown had the best score with a 73 on a pair of birdies as she finished in 51st. Doss carded a 76 with a birdie to claim 57th, and Hughes shot an 80 to take 64th. Martin sank a pair of birdies to shoot a 79 to finish 81st. 

As a team, the Cougars shot an overall score of 926 (328, 290, 308) as they claimed 16th place in the region. 

It was a highly successful season for Ashlyn Kennedy's squad as the team caught fire and finished second in the RMAC tournament, making their second appearance in the last three years at the NCAA regionals. Doss graduates as the lone senior on the team after a successful career at CCU, and the future is certainly bright with five returners.
