LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their players of the week on Tuesday, and after their first road sweep of Colorado Mesa in program history,
Arriana Wright and
Felesha LePenske have nabbed player and pitcher of the week honors.
Wright earns her second honor of the season after an outstanding weekend at the plate against the Mavericks. Arriana brought the power to Grand Junction, blasting a homer in the first three games of the series and totaling 10 RBI over the weekend. Arrriana went a tremendous 10-15 at the plate for a batting average of .667 and an on-base percentage of .688. Tallying a slugging percentage of 1.333 and an outstanding OPS of 2.021, Wright proved she is one of the better hitters in the conference as two weeks remain in the regular season.
LePenske earned her second pitcher of the week accolade after going 2-0 on the road to improve to 18-0 on the season. In game one she tossed a three-hit shutout, going the full 5.0 innings in the 12-0 run-rule victory. Felesha struck out 6 on her way to the dominant series opening victory. She followed with another victory in game three of the series, tossing 6.0 innings while fanning 3 batters to pick up another victory.
