Cougars Reach Highest Ranking in Program History at #5 in NFCA/GoRout DII Poll

LAKEWOOD, CO- The Cougars continue to shatter records and make history in the 2026 season, and more history was made on Tuesday when the NFCA/GoRout DII Coaches Poll was released. With a sweep of Colorado Mesa on the road over the weekend, CCU jumped two spots to #5 in the country, the highest ranking in program history beating out the 2023 squad that ascended as high as #6.

The Cougars proved once again that they are a juggernaut as they took on a Mavericks team that is typically one of their toughest foes within the RMAC. CCU made it look easy, run-ruling CMU in three of the four games in the series and sweeping them on their home field for the first time in program history.

With excellent defense this weekend, Colorado Christian jumped to the top spot in the nation in double plays at 27, and they retained their top spot in hits at 532. They took over the top spot in the nation in RBI with 383 and continue to lead in total runs with 424. With another series of smart hitting, CCU find themselves #1 in sacrifice flies with 34 and continue to lead the country in win-loss percentage at .958.

The Cougars will look to keep their record 42 game win streak going when they host their final regular season series of the year against Adams State April 24-25.
