LAKEWOOD, CO- The NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, and after running their win streak to a program record tying 34 games with a sweep of rivals MSU Denver this past weekend, the Cougars have moved up one spot to #9.
CCU showed their quality once again with another conference sweep of a team that will likely be in the RMAC Tournament field in MSU Denver. The Cougars completely dominated the Roadrunners on day one with two shutout victories of 8-0 and 7-0, and they followed with a run-rule victory in game three of the series 10-2. With their backs against the wall in game four, Colorado Christian did what good teams do, rallying for the walkoff victory to keep their perfect 28-0 mark in RMAC play alive and win their 34th straight game.
CCU now holds the top spot in the nation in hits, RBI, totals runs and win-loss percentage. With 433 hits, 311 runs batted in, 348 total runs and a win-loss percentage of 0.950, the Cougars have clearly cemented themselves as one of the best teams in the country as they continue to push towards postseason play with an unbeaten conference record.
The Cougars will look to set the all-time program record for wins in a row when they travel to Black Hills State for a four-game series April 11-12 with first pitch on day one set for 12 p.m. MDT.
