WAHIAWA, HI- Colorado Christian, the number 37 team in division two, traveled to Hawaii to take part in the HPU Sharks Shootout October 25-26. After many strong performances, the Cougars tied for sixth place out of 16 teams competing.
ROUND ONE
CCU saw many strong rounds on day one at the Leilahua Golf Course. Three golfers excelled on the course, all shooting a 71 for one under par to begin the tournament. Adam Duncan carded the score with a trio of birdies, while Xavier Bighaus had five birdies on his way to a 71. Peyton Jones impressed with four birdies and an eagle on the par five hole 11 to snag a 71 himself. Dylan Arthur shot a 76 and Camron Reddell carded a 77 to close play.
Zach Slayton competed as an individual at the tournament, shooting a 79 in round one.
ROUND TWO
Duncan continued the strong play on day two, carding a 70 as he finished in a tie for 16th place overall. Jones tied his teammate for 16th as he shot a 70 as well, posting an impressive seven birdies, including four on the back nine to post a 70. Bighaus finished with a 71 as he tied for 20th at the shootout. Reddell closed with a 71 as well, tying for 51st with four birdies. Arthur finished with a 73 as he tied for 59th.
Slayton shot a 79 as he tied for 80th at the tournament.
As a team, the Cougars tied for sixth with a total score of 571, good for five under par overall.
UP NEXT- Colorado Christian will stay in Hawaii to wrap up their fall season at the Dennis Rose Invitational in Hilo October 28-29.
