SHERIDAN, WY- A new era of Colorado Christian men's golf began at the Travis Roy Memorial at Powderhorn Golf Club in Wyoming. In new head coach Cameron Sandland's first tournament at the helm, the Cougars performed well as they claimed a third place finish to start the season.
ROUND ONE
Todd Tabor led the team on day one as he fired a 71 with four birdies and an eagle on hole 12.
Camron Reddell followed with a 73 on four birdies, and
Lance Christensen Jr. shot a 75 with three birdies.
Tyler Debruyckere shot a 77 and
Peyton Jones closed with an 83.
ROUND TWO
Jones bounced back in tremendous fashion in the second and final round, carding a 68 with six birdies to finish tied for 27th. Reddell had four birdies for a 69 as he finished in fifth place overall. Debruyckere shot a 73 as he finished tied for 24th. Tabor fired a 74 as he tied for 11th, and Christensen Jr. shot a 78 as he tied for 34th.
As a team, the Cougars totaled 580 (296, 284) as they closed in third place overall.
It was a strong start to the year for Colorado Christian, and they will look to continue their momentum at the San Juan Intercollegiate September 22-23 at Bridges Golf Course in Montrose, CO.
