WAIMEA, HI- The Cougars traveled to Hawaii to take part in a pair of tournaments, starting with the Southwest HPU Invite October 23-24. Playing at Mauna Lani-North, CCU played a strong three rounds of golf, finishing three under par as a team to claim second out of the 17 teams competing.
ROUND ONE
Bradley Mulder started strong, firing a 71 to start with two birdies and an eagle. Xavier Bighaus followed with an even par 72, while Adam Duncan carded a 73. Dylan Arthur shot a 76, and Peyton Jones tallied a 78 to close the first round out.
ROUND TWO
Duncan turned it on in the second round, shooting a 68 with five birdies on the front nine to go four under par. Bighaus carded a 69 to go three under par with four birdies. Arthur went one under par with a 71 as he netted five birdies. Jones shot a 75, while Mulder closed the day out with a 76.
ROUND THREE
Bighaus closed with a 71 in the final round as he claimed a tie for sixth place overall. Duncan tied for ninth with an even par 72 in the final round of play, while Arthur shot another 71 to tie for 21st. Mulder went even with a 72 to tie for 24th, while Jones finished with a 78 to tie for 69th.
After rounds of 292, 283 and 286, the team totaled a score of 861 to claim second place out of the large field of 17 teams playing.
CCU will wrap up the fall season October 27-28 as they compete in the Dennis Rose Invitational at Hapuna Golf Course in Waimea.
