LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAc) announced their golfer of the week on Thursday, and after taking down a loaded field of talent at the Shootout at PGA Riviera, Peyton Jones has earned the honor following his first collegiate victory. 

Jones was outstanding at the difficult PGA course in Mexico, recording two of the four total under par rounds in the entire tournament. The senior started with a 76 with a trio of birdies, and he only got better from there. Round two saw Peyton own the course, tallying a pair of eagles on the front nine and and three more birdies for a 70. The final round was more of the same excellent golf from Jones as he finished with a 71 that included three birdies and a clutch eagle on his final hole to take the individual victory by one stroke. It marked the first collegiate victory for Jones, a player who has been knocking on the door of a title for many years at CCU. The victory was made even more impressive by the sweltering heat, humidity and difficult course that Peyton battled throughout play, truly marking a signature moment in his career.
