Peyton Jones Nabs Second Title, Cougars Close Fall with Third Place Finish in Hawaii

KOHALA COAST, HI- The Cougars closed the fall season as they wrapped up play on Tuesday at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate in Hawaii. Led by a stellar first place performance from Peyton Jones, CCU finished in third place overall as they now look ahead to the spring season. 

ROUND ONE 
Lance Christensen Jr. led his team in the first round, sinking six birdies on his way to a three-under 69 on the par 72 course. Camron Reddell went under par as well, firing a 70 with three birdies and an eagle on the par 5 15th hole. Jones sank three birdies to close with a 74, while Tyler Debruyckere shot an 83. Cameron Cantillana shot an 84 to close the starting five out. 

Todd Tabor competed as an individual and fired an excellent first round off, carding a 69 with six birdies. 

ROUND TWO 
CCU began the second round immediately after the first on Monday, and Jones stepped up his game with an incredible eight birdies to close with a 68 for four-under par. Debruyckere netted five birdies to card a 70, and Reddell shot a round two 75. Christensen Jr. matched his teammate with a 75, while Cantillana netted an 82. 

Tabor remained steady with a 73 to close play on Monday. 

ROUND THREE
Jones closed in stellar fashion, carding three birdies and an eagle on hole 15 as he fired a 71 to claim his second individual title of the fall by an impressive three strokes. Reddell sank three birdies on the back nine to post a 73 and claim fifth place overall. A 79 from Christensen Jr. gave him 14th, while Debruyckere finished in 27th with a 76. Cantillana closed in 53rd after a final round 82. 

Tabor closed the tournament with an 80 as he finished in 10th place. 

As a team, the Cougars shot an overall score of 883 (296, 288, 299) to finish in third place overall, just four strokes off first place. Host Hawaii Hilo and Cal State Monterey Bay tied and went to a playoff hole, with the visiting Otters claiming the team victory after the playoff. 

With the fall season finished, the Cougars will work hard over the winter break to prepare for the spring season that begins February 22-24 at the NCAA West/South Central Regional Preview at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California.
