BOULDER CITY, NV- Colorado Christian took on top competition as they headed to Boulder Creek Golf Club to compete at the Las Vegas Desert Classic. A pair of top 30 finishes from
Peyton Jones and
Bradley Mulder pushed CCU to a 14th place finish in Nevada.
ROUND ONE
Jones and Mulder led off with even par 72s on day one of competition as they carded a combined 10 birdies. 78s from
Camron Reddell and
Todd Tabor were followed by a 79 from
Lance Christensen Jr. to close round one.
ROUND TWO
Mulder was strong with a 71 on a pair of birdies in round two, and Jones and Tabor fired 74s to follow. A 76 from Christensen Jr. and an 81 from Reddell closed the second day.
ROUND THREE
Jones was the highest overall finisher as he came in 24th with a final round 72 with six birdies. Mulder came next in 27th with a final round 76, and Christensen Jr. had a bounce back round with a 70 on three eagles and a birdie to claim 67th. Reddell shot a 74 for 92nd, and Tabor closed with an 83 for 101st.
As a team, the Cougars shot a total of 887 (300, 295, 292) to claim 14th place.
CCU will be back in action at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout March 9-10 at Corica Park Golf Course in Alameda, California.
