LAKEWOOD, CO- The Nationals Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released their week 2 coaches poll on Tuesday, and after a 4-1 weekend at home, the Cougars jumped seven spots from #21 to #14 in the top 25 poll. 

The Cougars got off to a strong start at home over the weekend, going 4-1 against a pair of teams that made the Regional Tournament last year in St. Mary's (TX) and St. Edward's. A dominant run-rule victory over the Hilltoppers kicked off day one, and the team battled to a doubleheader split with the Rattlers on day two. CCU swept SEU on the final day of play to close the homestand on a very high note as they head into conference play this next weekend. 

Colorado Christian made a sizable leap in the polls, as the coaches clearly saw the wins from the Cougars this weekend as a good reason to move them up. With a win over now #5 Cal State San Marcos under their belts, CCU is poised to climb even higher as they get set for RMAC play.
