Tammy McPherson Resigns as Head Women's Soccer Coach

LAKEWOOD, CO- Cougars alum and hall of famer Tammy McPherson has resigned her position as Head Coach of the Women's Soccer program.

McPherson has spent sixteen years at the helm of the Cougars, from 2003-2011 and again from 2015-2022. During that span, Tammy has impacted many CCU student-athletes and has led her team to several RMAC playoff berths. In just her second year back from the four year hiatus from coaching, she led the team to the RMAC playoffs with 13 wins, the most in program history, and they went on to claim the NCCAA National Championship that year.

McPherson graduated from Colorado Christian in 1999 after an illustrious career that put her in the record books and hall of fame at CCU. Four first team all-conference nods and RMAC freshman of the year awards are just the tip of the iceberg, as McPherson (formerly Wishard) still ranks first in single season points, career points and career assists for the program she would go on to lead.

"I deeply respect the investment that Coach McPherson has made into the CCU Women's Soccer program.  Her passion for excellence, along with her passion for Jesus have inspired so many of her players over the years to excel both on and off of the pitch!" said Athletic Director Brian Wall. "I appreciate all that Coach McPherson has meant to Women's Soccer throughout her career as a player and as a coach here at CCU."

We wish Coach McPherson all the best in her future endeavors and have been so blessed by all she has done for CCU Athletics over the years!

A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
